New Delhi: The national capital saw a marginal improvement in air quality on Monday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 308, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Despite the slight relief, Delhi’s air continues to remain in the ‘very poor’ category for the second consecutive day.

The deteriorating air quality has been attributed to unfavorable weather conditions, leading to a sharp rise in pollution levels. In neighboring areas, air quality also declined, with Gurugram recording a ‘poor’ AQI of 228, while Noida and Ghaziabad registered ‘moderate’ air quality at 183 and 193, respectively.

GRAP-III Restrictions in Effect
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) invoked the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage III restrictions on January 29 as pollution levels worsened. These measures remain in place as authorities work to curb pollution and improve air quality.

Delhi’s weather is expected to see a drop in temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius following rainfall. The forecast predicts a minimum temperature of 10.05°C and a maximum of 24.67°C, with relative humidity at 18%, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
